The visits to AmericanIdol.com have nearly doubled since last year. comScore Media Metrix announced that visitors to AmericanIdol.com on the night of the season premiere increased 99% when compared with the night of the season premiere in 2006
The newest feature unveiled this season included a music download store where viewers can purchase videos and MP3 songs of contestant performances as well as music from previous Idol contestants and winners
